Our team
We believe passionately in keeping up-to-date with the latest developments and that’s why all our team regularly attend CPD (continuing professional development) and training. All our dental nurses have reception skills and our senior receptionist is a qualified dental nurse too. This means you can be sure you’ll receive the best possible treatment and advice from your very first contact with us.
Miss Mabel M. Saw B.Ch.D., Principal Dentist
A graduate of Leeds Dental School, Mabel has been practising dentistry for over twenty-five years. She joined the practice in 2003 before taking over the reins in 2005 and, with great support from her husband, is the driving force behind its modernisation. Her goal is to continue tailoring the practice to patients’ needs whilst retaining its core values of providing the best level of dental care in a friendly and caring environment.
Dr. Kinga Maciejewska (Univ. Warsaw & UCL London)
Kinga grew up in Warsaw, Poland, qualifying as a Dental Surgeon at the Medical Academy in Warsaw. Since then, she has worked in private practices both in Poland and Sweden before coming to England in 2008.
Kinga’s main interests are in Endodontics (root canal treatment) and aesthetic (metal free) dentistry. In 2011 she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Endodontics at the world renowned Eastman Dental Institute, part of University College London.
Cara Mitchell, Dental Hygienist
After six years as a dental nurse Cara decided to develop her interest in preventive dentistry by retraining as a hygienist. She qualified from the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital in London and joined us early in 2010. Cara loves working in a community-based family practice where she can build relationships with patients to develop long-term results.
Veronica Poggiolini, Senior Receptionist
Veronica qualified as a dental nurse in 1985 and started at the practice in 1990. Hers is the friendly face that greets you on arrival, or the soothing voice offering advice on the phone. An active member of the community, Veronica took part in Race for Life with senior dental nurse, Jane. She feels privileged to both live and work in Burwell and comments: ‘It is always lovely to see patients around the village or hear a cheery greeting from across the street. Lots of our patients have been with us for a very long time and I feel honoured to have got to know them so well. Sitting on the reception desk is the best job in the world – I get to meet and chat with all the patients and do my utmost to help them. The job satisfaction and pleasure is huge and it’s never a chore to go into work!’
Jane Sell, Senior Dental Nurse
Jane has been a key part of our dedicated team for more than twelve years. As a qualified nurse she has always been a committed member of the caring professions, but after a career break to look after her children wanted to develop her work in a community setting. Jane has a keen interest in oral hygiene and also leads our cross-infection control policy within the practice. Well-known in the local area, she has taken part in Cancer Research’s Race for Life for the past three years and also helped contribute an article to the Burwell Bulletin to raise awareness of oral cancer.
Judy Foster, Dental Nurse
Judy joined us in 2009, bringing over 25 years’ experience to her role. She’s equally happy in the clinical or administrative setting and loves the sense of friendship between staff and patients at the practice. Judy produces a regular newsletter to keep our patients up-to-date with all the latest developments. She’s also keen to get the oral hygiene message out into the community, and wrote a magazine article for the local Over 50s Centre on dental care.
