‘A thorough and caring service. I had a lot of old work revisited so had numerous appointments in a small timeframe. They took the time to talk through everything in detail until I was 100% happy.’

Our Services

We’re proud of the variety of services we provide and the range of materials we offer. The choice available allows our patients to balance quality of materials with value for money, comfort and aesthetics.

Anti-snoring devices: Mouth breathing at night is a major cause of bad breath and snoring. We provide and can advise you on anti-snoring devices which promote breathing through the nose.

Bad breath (halitosis): Halitosis is caused by decaying bacteria on the tongue, palate and between the teeth. Cara, our hygienist, can offer advice and help solve or prevent any problems.

Bridges and crowns: Bridges and crowns are available in a choice of materials and prices [link to ‘our fees’ page] to satisfy your aesthetic, comfort and financial considerations.

Check-ups: Regular check-ups are the heart of preventive dentistry. We also check the health of your gums (one of the major causes of tooth loss) and screen for mouth cancer.

Dentures: Well-fitting dentures improve self-esteem and can provide extra support to prevent sagging facial muscles. We allow time to ensure that you make the right decision on material, aesthetics and fit – all key to ensure you eat comfortably, speak clearly and smile with confidence.

Extractions: Preventive dentistry aims to reduce extractions to a minimum. However, where there is no alternative you can be confident that our approach will be gentle and considerate.

Fillings: We offer a choice of amalgam or white fillings - new materials make it much easier to find the perfect shade. We aim to replace fillings that have become worn or are leaking, but would only recommend wholesale replacement under very special circumstances.

Gum treatment: Gum disease is the UK’s leading cause of tooth loss. This is caused by plaque. Gingivitis, or inflammation of the gums, is reversible but left untreated it may turn into periodontal disease, where the bone that anchors teeth is lost and the teeth become loose. This cannot be reversed, but we will advise on improved oral hygiene and offer treatment to stabilise damage and prevent tooth loss. With the correct care and maintenance involving the hygienist, extractions can be delayed or even prevented.

Grinding of teeth (bruxism): We advise and treat bruxism to avoid mouth and jaw problems. We provide a range of night mouth guards and will advise you on the most suitable.

Gum shields (sports): Painful, expensive damage to teeth, gums and cheeks can be drastically reduced with our range of comfortable and durable custom-made sports guards, available in a range of colours.

Hygienist: A visit to the hygienist is one of the twin prongs of preventive dentistry. As well as personalised advice on the best oral hygiene routine for you, our hygienist, Cara checks the health of your gums, carries out deep cleaning (scale and polish) and advises on problems such as sensitive teeth or bad breath. Cara is also popular with children as she advises on good tooth brushing techniques and healthy eating styles. Parents find that her influence sets up good dental habits from a young age.

Oral cancer screening: Nearly 1,700 people die from mouth cancer every year. Screening is painless and early detection could save your life. We recommend a check-up at least once a year. We always advise our patients to get any unknown lesions in the mouth checked out early. In an emergency, this might sometimes mean sitting in the waiting room for an available appointment. However, we firmly believe that prevention is better than cure.

Ozone: A relatively recent development, ozone dental therapy reduces the need for fillings by killing the bacteria present in tooth decay and helping to remineralise the tooth enamel.

Radiology: Most of our x-rays are digital, which reduces harmful radiation exposure by up to 90% and is also better for the environment. It also means we can view the x-rays almost instantly and make diagnoses a lot quicker.

Root canal treatment (endodontics): If the blood or nerve supply of a tooth (the pulp) is infected through decay or injury, timely root canal treatment prevents the infection spreading and a painful abscess forming.

Scale and polish: Any build up of plaque and tartar is thoroughly removed. We concentrate particularly on the areas just below the gum line and those hard to reach bits. As part of your oral hygiene routine, it can help prevent and treat gum disease.

Tooth whitening: Teeth may become discoloured with age, or stained by tea, coffee, red wine and smoking. Tooth whitening is a safe, highly effective way to restore them to their original condition.

Veneers: Veneers are a thin layer of tooth-coloured porcelain or composite (white filling) attached to a damaged tooth. They are ideal to repair chips and cracks, treat discoloured or unsightly teeth and close gaps between front teeth.
