Welcome to Kinga Maciejewska (Univ. Warsaw & UCL London)

We're delighted to welcome a new dentist to the practice: Kinga Maciejewska.

Kinga grew up in Warsaw, Poland, qualifying as a Dental Surgeon at the Medical Academy in Warsaw. Since then, she has worked in private practices both in Poland and Sweden before coming to England in 2008.

Kinga’s main interests are in Endodontics (root canal treatment) and aesthetic (metal free) dentistry. In 2011 she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Endodontics at the world renowned Eastman Dental Institute, part of University College London.

In her spare time, Kinga has a passion for sports: windsurfing, yoga and running; travel, motorcycling, art & fashion.

Farewell to Louise Watts BDS (Newcastle)

In December we said farewell to Louise Watts who has been an Associate Dentist at the practice for the past fifteen years. Louise has decided to pursue new opportunities, including a postgraduate dental course. We know many patients will be sorry to see her leave and we thank her for all she has done and wish her every success for the future.

Today's tip

Did you know that if you eat sweets it’s better to eat them together rather than spread throughout the day? This is because every time you eat anything that contains sugar, however little, plaque in your mouth reacts with it to create acid. The acid weakens the enamel of your teeth to leave them more vulnerable, in a process that can last up to 20 minutes.

Newsletter

We like to keep all our patients up-to-date with developments at the practice, and what we’re up to in the community. The most recent issue of our newsletter focuses on Oral Cancer Awareness month, our latest fundraising efforts, and our new range of sports mouth guards.

Decontamination room

New guidelines, issued to the industry by the Department of Health, require a separate room to clean and sterilise dental instruments, away from the surgery. We’re proud to report that our decontamination room is up and running a year ahead of their schedule.

Computer system updated

We hope you’ll be pleased to discover that our computer system has been updated. We can now send out your appointment reminders by letter, text or email so do let us know which method you prefer.

Appointment cards

In response to patient requests, we now provide a simple checklist of early symptoms for mouth cancer on the reverse side of our appointment cards. Please feel free to take a few and pass them on to friends or family members.
